FAQs
I’m interested in learning more about LightSwitch workshops; how do I proceed?
Contact LightSwitch via email or through the contact form on the contact page to set up a complimentary, no-obligation, 30-minute meeting (phone/video/in-person) where we explore the challenges your organization faces and how LightSwitch’s applied improv workshops can help address them.
Public speaking and acting make me and/or some of my team pretty uncomfortable; how do you address participants who don’t have any performance experience or don’t enjoy those arts?
I understand that public performance is not for everyone. I have a lot of experience with creating a safe and supportive environment to ensure all participants are comfortable and engaged, whether they like being in the middle of things or prefer to see things unfold from the sidelines. Improv is not primarily about being funny or putting on a show; it’s about listening, accepting, being authentic, and making other people look good. When I first trained in improv for performance, I realized that people were using the fundamentals of improv in the corporate world through applied improvisation (applied improv). Applied improv takes the tools of improv and adapts them for a non-performance setting that includes a much wider variety of comfort levels.
What size groups does LightSwitch typically work with?
The average size for workshops is teams of 15–20 people.
I’m looking for a facilitator for a company-wide meeting. Do you work with larger groups?
Absolutely! I have worked with groups of 150+ in customized sessions that take the same applied improv approach to problem solving and adjust it to the number of participants involved. Reach out to learn more about how I facilitate company-wide meetings, retreats, conferences, symposiums, and more.
What are some examples of the different types of problems you’ve addressed through workshops?
As each workshop is tailored to meet the specific needs of the client, I’ve seen a wild variety of things: connecting staff, being more creative, improving communication and leadership, building a positive team culture, presenting and speaking publicly more effectively, developing critical thinking skills, and creating a blended work environment post-pandemic (in-person/remote) for staff to thrive and feel supported in.
